Snead State Community College highlighted the end of the Spring semester with special recognition of student achievements. Students were honored during the annual Awards Day ceremony at Snead State Community College on Thursday, April 14.
Snead State Community College Vice President for Student Services Jason Cannon presented the President’s Awards, on behalf of President Dr. Robert Exley, to a student majoring in an academic field and a student pursuing a technical field of study. The Academic Award went to Dylan K. Shadinger of Albertville, and the Technical Award went to Susan A. Driskill of Crossville.
The Dean’s Award, presented by Dean for Liberal Arts and Student Success Dr. Annette Cederholm, was given to Destiny H. Coleman of Scottsboro.

•All-Alabama Academic Team members – Dylan Shadinger of Albertville and Bailey Morton of Altoona.
•Business – Sarah “Abby” Hawkins of Guntersville.
•Computer Science – David Adelman of Boaz.
•Economics and English – Michaela McGuire of Attalla.
•History – Shayan Pramani of Gadsden.
•Mathematics – Sophomore Award: Wesley Burns of Boaz. Freshman Award: Jewellia Ard of Albertville.
•Music – Most Improved Musician: Rebekah Currier of Union Grove. Best All Around Music Student: Courtney Lee of Boaz.
•Nursing – Highest GPA for Nursing Assistant: Myranda Rice of Warrior; Highest GPA in First Level RN: Paula Porter of Albertville; Highest GPA in Second Level RN: Brandy Ross of Boaz; Clinical Excellence First Level: Betina Thompson of Rainsville; Clinical Excellence Second Level: Michael Maharry of Attalla.
•Political Science – Austin Minor of Boaz.

Several organizations were also recognized for their hard work throughout the year. Those clubs included Phi Beta Lambda, College Bowl, Student Government Association and the Fishing Team, which won Club of the Year.
