Snead State Announces Scholarship Recipients

The following students received scholarships to attend Snead State Community College for the 2018-2019 academic year.

Albertville

  • Brady Beam, the son of Jason and Kristi Beam, received an Academic Achievement Scholarship. He played varsity baseball for three years at Albertville High School. Brady also received the Gilmore Brannon Award.
  • Noah Holsonback received a General Scholarship and plans to major in General Education. He is the son of Teresa and Jeff Holsonback. He played football at Asbury High School. 
  • Dakota Holsonback received a General Scholarship and plans to major in General Education. A graduate of Asbury High School, he is the son of Teresa and Jeff Holsonback. 
  • Christian Ramirez plans to pursue a career as an Athletic Trainer. The son of Julio Salinas and Marisol Ramirez, he received a General Scholarship. At Albertville High School, he played Soccer and was named the Offensive MVP. He also plays guitar.

Alexandria

  • Gracie Muncher received a Presidential Honors scholarship and plans to major in Communications and Public Relations. The daughter of Lance and Jennifer Muncher, Gracie will play for the Lady Parsons Volleyball Team. While at Alexandria High School, she played volleyball for four years, basketball for two years, and golf for two years. She was also the president of the Student Government Association, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and First Priority; vice president of the National Honor Society; and secretary of the Christian Club. She was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America and was named to the 5A Volleyball State Champion Team. She was recognized as an All-State Setter with almost 3400 career assists, as al.com Player of the Year, as All-County Golfer, and as All-Area Basketball. She represented her high school as an Alabama Girls State Delegate and Youth Leadership Calhoun County Delegate.

Arab

  • Caleigh Kitchens, the daughter of Brad and Jan Kitchens, received an Academic Achievement Scholarship. She played basketball for six years, volleyball for four years, softball for three years, and archery for six years. She was also a member of the BETA Club, FCCLA, HOSA, the Spirit Club, and the yearbook staff at Arab High School. 
  • Laura Beth Robertson, a graduate of Arab High School, received a Presidential Honors Scholarship and plans to major in Biomedical Sciences. She is the daughter of Chad and Junnie Robertson. She was the Student Council Association President and served as a Red Wagon Project Ambassador, Arab Chamber of Commerce Jr. Ambassador, a Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital Patient Ambassador, and Diamond Doll. She was also a member of HOSA, Spanish Honor Society, and Beta Club and received Senior Healthcare Internship. She received the Highest Academic Average award in Algebra 1 and the Medical Terminology award, and was recognized as a HOSA State Qualifier.

Attalla

  • Rayley Nelson plans to major in Accounting. The daughter of Patti and Tommy Jones, she has received an Academic Achievement Scholarship. She is a graduate of Sardis High School.

Boaz

  • Kaylee Bayne, the daughter of Lori Bayne, received a General Scholarship. She played softball for four years, basketball for four years, and volleyball for two years. She was named to the All County Basketball Team her senior year.
  • Ashley Ennis received a General Scholarship. The daughter of Kevin and Tona Ennis, she performed with the Show Choir for five years. She received the SREB Math Award, an AP Award and Rho Kappa Award at Boaz High School.
  • Maddie Naler, a graduate of Boaz High School, received a General Scholarship. She is the daughter of Misty and Chris Copeland, Kevin Naler, and Jennifer Morris. Maddie participated in Theater for one year and Art for four years. 
  • Deyna Thomas received a General Scholarship and plans to major in Nursing. She is the daughter of Petrona Thomas. Deyna participated in many activities at Boaz High School including the HOSA Club, Spanish Club, Environmental Club, HOPE Club, and Art Club. Her awards include the Medical Terminology award and All A’s in Spanish I and Spanish II.

Crossville

  • Katelyn Drain plans to major in Accountancy. She received an Academic Achievement Scholarship and is a graduate of Crossville High School.
  • Emily Tully received an Academic Achievement Scholarship and plans to major in General Education. She is the daughter of Joseph and Sandra Tully. A graduate of Crossville High School, Emily participated in band and danceline. She was a member of the BETA Club and attends Freelife Woship Center. 

Douglas

  • Kayleigh Rogers, a graduate of Douglas High School, plans to major in Chemical Engineering. She received an Academic Achievement Scholarship. The daughter of Jon and DeAnna Rogers, she played basketball for three years, volleyball for three years, and track and field for five years. She was named to the All-Area Tournament and All County teams in basketball and the All-Area Tournament and All County teams in volleyball. 

Gadsden

  • Anna Grace Guthery, a graduate of Etowah High School, received the Congressman Albert and Allison Rains Endowment Scholarship. She is the daughter of Mark and Tara Guthery and plans to major in Nursing.

Guntersville

  • Rebekah Brothers received an Academic Scholarship. The daughter of Rebekah and Kane Brothers, she plans to major in General Education. She played varsity volleyball for four years and basketball. She was also a member of the Anchor Club, Junior Civitans, Student Government Association, Future Business Leaders of America, Health Occupations Students of America, ODK National Honor Society, National Spanish Honors Society, Student’s Against Destructive Decisions, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She served as a Class Marshall, and she received a National Spanish Honors Society award, Wendy’s Heisman award, and Hugh O’Brien Youth Award Academic Top Ten.
  • Anna Campbell, a graduate of Guntersville High School, received a Performing Arts Vocal Scholarship. The daughter of Anthony and Mary Campbell, she plans to major in Musical Education. She was a member of the Ladies Chorale, Anchor Club, Leo Club, Love Club, Junior Civitans, Advanced 2D Art Club, National Art Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, and ODK National Honor Society. She was named to the Honor Choir and All State Choir, and she was Miss Guntersville 2017. Some of her awards include National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, National Art Society, ODK, All State Choir and Honor Choir.
  • Jackson Cannon, the son of Keith and Dedra Cannon, plans to major in Nursing. He received a Performing Arts Scholarship to perform with Snead State College Street Singers. He played varsity football for three years, and he was a member of the Show Choir, Concert Choir, and Spanish Club at Guntersville High School. He was awarded a Spanish Honors award and was inducted into the National Honor Society. 
  • Autumn Knight received a Child Development Scholarship. She is the daughter of Gina and Patrick Knight. She was in Musical Theater for four years at Douglas High School and received an award for the Most Outstanding Theater Student. 
  • Yiselle Munoz, a graduate of Douglas High School, received a Service Scholarship. She is the daughter of Lorena Munoz and plans to major in Nursing.

Sardis

  • Courtney Kimbrough, a graduate of Sardis High School, received a General Scholarship. She is the daughter of Jerry and Maureen Kimbrough.
