Snead State Community College Welcomes K-12 Partners to Workforce and Career Institute
Representatives from Snead State Community College welcomed high school faculty and staff from schools within Marshall, Etowah, DeKalb, and Blount Counties to the new Workforce and Career Institute for the Parson Partners Workshop on Jan. 31.

Snead State Community College thrives from its community partnerships, and one such partnership was spotlighted during the Parson Partners Workshop on Friday, Jan. 31.

The College welcomed high school faculty and staff from schools within Marshall, Etowah, DeKalb, and Blount Counties to the new Workforce and Career Institute for an opportunity to network and share information.

“We can’t say enough about the value of our working relationship with the local schools. They are vital in sharing information with dual enrollment and potential college students about the opportunities at the College. We appreciate all they do to help us reach out to students,” said Snead State President Dr. Joe Whitmore, who welcomed the attendees to kick off the workshop.

Snead State Dean of Career Technical Education/Workforce Development Dr. Greg Randall lead a tour of the Workforce and Career Institute for representatives with schools from within Marshall, Etowah, DeKalb, and Blount Counties during the recent Parson Partners Workshop.

Some of the information provided during the workshop included scholarship opportunities, dual enrollment updates, FAFSA information, admissions updates, upcoming recruiting events, updates about Career Technical Education and Workforce Development, and new software information.

“This is the first year the event was hosted at the Workforce and Career Institute. Attendees were given a tour of the 50,000-square-foot facility, and they could see first-hand the training programs we have available at the Institute,” said Director of Admissions and Recruiting Tristin Callahan.

The workshop closed with lunch prepared by the Snead State Cafeteria and served at WACI.
