Manganello will present “Build Wealth Over Time Through Saving and Investing” beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday in Fielder Auditorium, located in the Story Administration Building at 220 North Walnut Street in Boaz. The community is invited to attend Thursday’s presentation.

Topics to be covered include learning a three-step roadmap to building wealth, making tax-advantaged accounts like 401ks and IRAs your building blocks, learning smart use of credit and how an emergency fund can keep you out of debt, understanding the power of compounding and how diversification can reduce the risk of investing, and learning about scams and steps you can take to protect yourself.

Manganello is with the SEC’s Office of Investor Education and Assistance. In that role, he helps to coordinate investor education throughout the SEC’s headquarters and 10 regional offices. He researches, writes and disseminates an extensive library of plain language investor education tools and resources on the SEC’s website, www.Investor.gov.

A subject matter expert on saving, investing and avoiding scams, Manganello has been a featured lecturer, panelist, moderator, and social media communicator for more than 10 years. He regularly guest lectures on “Building Wealth Through Saving and Investing” to high school, college and military audiences, and gives presentations on how older investors can protect their money at libraries, senior centers and communities.
Manganello is an attorney who spent 10 years in the SEC’s Division of Enforcement, where he investigated violations of the federal securities laws, including insider trading, Ponzi and pyramid schemes, and accounting and broker fraud. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and earned a BS in journalism from Ohio University.
