Snead State President Dr. Robert Exley has named Casey Underwood as the Acting Head Baseball Coach.
The announcement comes after former Head Coach Gerry Ledbetter retired at the end of this season after 26 years.
Coach Underwood has been the Associate Head Coach for the last 13 seasons and brings a unique perspective to the position. After playing for Coach Ledbetter from 2003-2005, he was hired as an assistant coach and has worked relentlessly since for the College and for the baseball program. In 2014, he was named the Assistant Coach of the Year by the Alabama Baseball Coaches Association.
“We are working to permanently fill the position as quickly as possible and hope to have an announcement in the coming weeks,” said Dr. Exley.
“Our goal through the baseball program is to train our students to be better athletes and provide services to them so they can be better students. We continue to be invested in the success of our students, and we appreciate the willingness of our players and their families to be a part of that.”
