If you are sick with coronavirus disease 2019, or suspected of being infected with it, follow the steps in this fact sheet to help prevent spreading it to people in your home and community.
The ACCUPLACER will be given on Mondays and Wednesdays by appointment only at the Testing Center. The College’s COVID-19 procedures will be followed – social distancing, wearing masks, taking temperatures, completing COVID-19 questionnaire, and completing waiver forms. Only the student taking the exam will be allowed in the building. Anyone accompanying the student must wait outside away from the building entrance.
Students also have the option to take the ACCUPLACER through the online Examity proctored site. Students must have a personal computer, webcam, and other specific requirements in order to use this option. The student must pay Examity a $25 proctor fee to use this method.
A virtual campus tour is available through the website and the Snead State YouTube channel. No large group tours will be held on campus until further notice. Small group walking tours of the campus are available by appointment only. No tours will be taken inside buildings, and CDC guidelines will be adhered – social distancing, wearing masks, taking temperatures, completing COVID-19 questionnaire, and completing waiver forms.
The Snead Bookstore has temporarily closed but will continue to serve customers via the eCommerce platform. Visit the bookstore website for more information.
The library and commons area of the Administration Building will be open for students to use the College Wi-Fi by appointment only Monday through Thursday form 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Academic Success Center will be open for students to use the computers in the lab by appointment only Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Library services will be conducted online. Students have access to library resources through VIRGIL and other online databases. If a student needs assistance, there is a “Contact a Librarian” link on the library page that is monitored and responded to by our libraries.
All students entering any of the buildings will have their temperature taken upon entering, and they will be asked the questions on the COVID-19 Active Screening Questionnaire and must complete a student waiver form. The College’s social distancing procedures will be followed (at least six feet between students). Students will need to wear masks at all times.
Yes, Snead State will provide updates through the website and Blackboard.
Not at this time. Snead State will notify graduates of information regarding the virtual Commencement ceremony once details have been finalized. The details will include information regarding caps and gowns.
The in-person graduation ceremony scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020, has been cancelled due to growing concerns surrounding COVID-19. The College will instead offer a virtual celebration for the 2020 graduating class. More details will be announced as they are finalized.
Yes. Academic advising will be done virtually, through email or by phone call. Virtual appointments may be scheduled by going to www.snead.edu/advising.
Yes, the Admissions Offices are processing applications each day. Please keep checking the email address you provided on your application for any updates or document requests. Students should be notified regarding their next steps within 7-10 business days.
