Welcome to the Snead State Community College TRIO Student Support Services and Upward Bound website! Here you will find information about the programs, how to obtain application information, eligibility, services and meet our staff members.
TRIO Programs were established to support the nation’s commitment to provide educational opportunity for all Americans to enter college, graduate, and move on to participate more fully in realizing “America’s Economic and Social Dream”. These Programs are funded under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965. The Student Support Services and Upward Bound programs at Snead State Community College are part of the family of Federal TRIO programs funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
TRIO Student Support Services
The TRIO Student Support Service program helps low-income, disabled and/or first generation college students to remain in college until they earn their associate degree and transfer to a four-year institution.
TRIO Upward Bound
The TRIO Upward Bound program provides college preparatory services to low-income and first-generation college students and ensures that participants successfully complete high school and are prepared to enter and successfully complete a post-secondary educational program.
