The Snead State Student Ambassadors is a service organization that works with various departments to promote the image of the college and maintain relationships with former, current, and future students. The Ambassadors, a vital part of Snead State, assist with campus and community events including commencement and campus tours. The organization also serves to develop leadership abilities, to cultivate friendship, and to encourage participation in college-sponsored activities and community services projects.
Ambassadors is a scholarship organization. Applicants must submit the following to be considered: high school/college transcript, confirmation page that a FAFSA was submitted (do not have to be eligible for Pell to be considered), an essay describing the applicant’s educational and career goals, an essay discussing an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a personal growth and a new understanding of yourself and others, a resume’ that demonstrates school and community involvement, and two letters of recommendation (at least 1 of them from a teacher/counselor). Finalists will be interviewed by a panel to select the recipients. To apply for the Ambassador Scholarship, please visit snead.edu/scholarships. For more information, email Ambassador Sponsors Mr. Chandler Tarvin and Mrs. Lindsey Hubbard at ambassadors@snead.edu.
Ambassadors must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, and their conduct must be above reproach. Ambassadors’ class and work schedules must be flexible enough to allow them to regularly attend meetings, to routinely give campus tours as needed, and to participate in events and the planning of those events. Ambassadors who complete consecutive fall and spring semesters in good standing are eligible to serve an additional fall and spring semester. Ambassadors will be required to wear the appropriate dress when representing the organization at events. The appropriate dress will be determined by the Ambassador sponsor.
