Snead State Community College’s Public Relations/Marketing team received an Award of Achievement and two Awards of Merit during the annual Alabama Community College System Public Relations Association (ACCSPRA) Pyramid Awards brunch on Friday, Sept. 8.
Snead State Director of Marketing/Public Relations Shelley Smith and Graphic Design/Web Specialist Miranda Collier comprised the team accepting the awards of second and third place, respectively. The Award of Achievement was in the Athletics category for the 2016-2017 Sports Media Guide. The Awards of Merit were in the categories of Print Advertising Series for the Snead State Family Campaign and of Annual Report for the 2016 State of the College.
The Pyramid Awards were developed by ACCSPRA to recognize the efforts of community college marketing and recruiting departments within the Alabama Community College System. Two-year institutions within the organization had the opportunity to enter their work in a variety of categories. The Pyramid Awards ceremony was held in conjunction with ACCSPRA’s Annual Conference on Sept. 6-8.
As part of the annual conference, ACCSPRA members also approved a slate of officers for 2017-2018. Collier will represent Snead State on the board as the Vice President/President-Elect.
