Snead State Community College’s Public Relations/Marketing team was recognized during the annual Alabama Community College System Public Relations Association (ACCSPRA) Pyramid Awards brunch on Friday, Sept. 7.
Snead State Director of Marketing/Public Relations Shelley Smith and Graphic Design/Web Specialist Miranda Collier comprised the team accepting three Pyramid Awards, the top place in each category, and the Awards of Merit, the third place in each category.
The team received Pyramid Awards in the Viewbook category for the 2017-2018 Viewbook, in the photography category for a photo taken of an anatomy class working with molding clay, and in the Social Media Category for the College’s SnapChat profile.
The Awards of Merit were received in the Athletics Category for the 2017-2018 Basketball Media Guide and in Newswriting for a feature article written by Ms. Collier on the retirement of Snead State Baseball Coach Gerry Ledbetter.
The Pyramid Awards were developed by ACCSPRA to recognize the efforts of community college marketing and recruiting departments within the Alabama Community College System. Two-year institutions within the organization had the opportunity to enter their work in a variety of categories. The Pyramid Awards ceremony was held in conjunction with ACCSPRA’s Annual Conference on Sept. 5-7.
As part of the annual conference, ACCSPRA members also approved a slate of officers for 2018-2019. Ms. Collier will represent Snead State as the President of the organization.
