Theatre Instructor Kyle Steffen has been with Snead State Community College for less than a year, but he’s already getting to know the artistic landscape of Alabama.
Mr. Steffen will be starring in an upcoming production of “Once: The Musical” at the Red Mountain Theatre in Birmingham. Performances are scheduled for April 8-24.
From the very first note, “Once” is an emotionally captivating musical and is the only show to have music that won an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, an Olivier Award, and a Tony Award. Featuring all of the magical songs from the critically acclaimed film, including the Oscar-winning “Falling Slowly,” the achingly beautiful, joyously uplifting show strikes an unforgettable chord in audiences and speaks to the power of music to connect us all.
Earlier this year, Mr. Steffen staged fight choreography for “The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical” at Arab High School. The production was directed by Snead State alumnus Taylor Hyatt.
Mr. Steffen also led Snead State Theatre students in a production of “Suppressed Desires” in February.
