Snead State Streamlines Scholarship Application Process

Snead State Community College has streamlined the scholarship application process to better benefit students.

“The entire scholarship application process can be done online,” said Snead State Vice President for Student Services Jason Cannon. “Students no longer have to complete paper forms or try to decide the scholarships they are eligible for. Once they input their information in the system, the program automatically shows them the scholarships they are eligible for.”

In addition to the new online process, several of the available scholarships were revamped, and new scholarships were added to provide more opportunities for potential students. Snead State is currently accepting applications for the upcoming fall semester. The deadline for scholarship applications is March 15, 2021.

Some of the scholarships available include Academic Achievement, Art, Aviation, Business, Child Development, Computer Science, Dual Enrollment to First Time Freshman, Foundation and Endowment, GED/Non-Traditional, General Need-Based, Horticulture, Industrial Systems Technology, Office Administration, Returning/Continuing Student, and Valedictorian/Salutatorian.

One of the new scholarships available is for the student Ambassador program. Student Ambassadors represent the College in a variety of ways, including leading campus tours, hosting on-campus events, participating in college fairs, and volunteering for community service projects. In addition to completing the online scholarship application form, eligible students will be contacted for an interview prior to selection.

Students may also qualify for scholarships awarded through the Music Department, including Choral/College Street Singers, Guitar, Jazz Band, Music Service Scholarship, Piano, and Voice. In addition to completing the online scholarship application, students must also contact Music Department Chair Dr. Barbara Hudson at barbara.hudson@snead.edu to schedule an appointment for an audition.
