Snead State crowns Johnson, Hurst 2024 Homecoming King and Queen

BOAZ, Ala. – Alex Johnson and Hannah Hurst were crowned Snead State Community College’s 2024 Homecoming King and Queen on Monday, Feb. 12, inside Plunkett Wallace Gymnasium.

The Homecoming Court was honored between the men’s and women’s basketball games against Chattahoochee Valley Community College on John Kitchens Court.

Selected to the Homecoming Court were sophomores Connor Aderholt, Mario Andrews, Olivia Gilbert, Trey Higgins, Erica Lang, Fisher Moss, Julie Ramirez, Lydia West, Johnson and Hurst.

Freshmen members of the court included Audrey Beasley, Courtney Brewer, Bo Hester, Sarah McCullars, Blake Moon, Brooks Parkerson, Evan Patterson and Lainie Phillips.

About the Queen

Snead State Community College’s 2024 Homecoming Queen Hannah Hurst of Moody is the daughter of Gary and Tracie Hurst. She is a 2022 graduate of Jefferson Christian Academy. Hurst is a member of the Snead State Softball Team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Phi Beta Lambda, Phi Theta Kappa and National Society of Leadership and Success. She has been named to the NJCAA All-Academic First Team and ACCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll. She is pursuing an Associate in Science Degree. Outside of school, Hurst attends Bridge Church Boaz, is a member of the Church of the Highlands Dream Team, and serves as a lifeguard at the Boaz Recreation Center. After graduation from Snead State, she intends to transfer to Auburn University in the fall to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

About the King

Snead State Community College’s 2024 Homecoming King Alex Johnson of Albertville is the son of Carin and Aaron Johnson, and he is a 2022 graduate of Albertville High School. At Snead State, Johnson is a member of the Parsons Baseball Team and is pursuing an Associate Degree in History Education. Outside of school, Johnson is a member of LifePoint Church. His plans for after graduation include continuing his education and pursuing a degree in history and education.

About the Court

  • Connor Aderholt, a sophomore from Shelby, is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Biology. He is a Snead State Ambassador and a member of the Baseball Team. His plans are to pursue a biology degree and be accepted into physical therapy school.
  • Mario Andrews, a sophomore from Independence, La., is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Business. He is a member of the Men’s Basketball Team and plans to transfer to Alabama State University.
  • Audrey Beasley, a freshman from Guntersville, is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Pre-Nursing. She is a member of the Snead State Ambassadors and the Rotaract Club. She plans to transfer to the University of Alabama in Huntsville to earn a Bachelor Degree in Nursing.
  • Courtney Brewer, a freshman from Petal, Miss., is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Elementary Education. She is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Women’s Golf Team. She plans to transfer to the University of Mississippi to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.
  • Olivia Gilbert, a sophomore from Douglas, is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. She is an Ambassador, secretary of the SGA, and a member of the History Club. She plans to transfer to UAH in the fall to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Bo Hester, a freshman from Guntersville, is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Social Science Education. He is an Ambassador and volunteers as a football coach for Boaz Middle School. He plans to transfer to Jacksonville State University in the fall to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science Education.
  • Trey Higgins, a sophomore from Oxford, is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Business. A member of the Baseball Team, he plans to transfer to Samford University to pursue a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration.
  • Erica Lang, a sophomore from Guntersville, is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Business. She is a member of the Tennis Team, the FCA Leadership Team, and the Snead State Ambassadors. She hopes to obtain a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration.
  • Sarah McCullars, a freshman from Albertville, is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Business. She is the treasurer of the Snead State Ambassadors, of Rotaract, and of FBLA Collegiate. She plans to transfer to UAH to obtain a degree in Finance.
  • Blake Moon, a freshman from Guntersville, is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Math Education. He plays for the Baseball Team and is a student leader for FCA. He plans to transfer to the University of North Alabama to earn a Bachelor Degree in Math Education.
  • Fisher Moss, a sophomore from Madison, is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in General Education. He is a member of the Parson Baseball Team.
  • Brooks Parkerson, a freshman from Midland, Ga., is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Environmental Science. He is a member of the Parson Baseball Team. He hopes to earn a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Studies.
  • Evan Patterson, a freshman from Albertville, is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Business. He is the vice president of the Ambassadors and a member of FBLA Collegiate and Rotaract. He plans to pursue a Bachelor Degree in Business Cyber Security.
  • Lainie Phillips, a freshman from Guntersville, is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Pre-Nursing. She plays for the Lady Parson Volleyball Team. She plans to transfer to Jacksonville State University to pursue a Bachelor Degree in Nursing.
  • Julie Ramirez, a sophomore from Albertville, is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Political Science. She is the president of the Pan Latino Club and the Canterbury Club, and she is a member of the Media Club, the Ambassadors, and TRIO. She was crowned Miss Founders Day 2022. She plans to transfer in the fall to pursue a Bachelor Degree in Political Science.
  • Lydia West, a sophomore from Geraldine, is pursuing an Associate Degree in Science. She plays for the Snead State Softball Team and is a member of FCA, Phi Theta Kappa, and the National Society for Leadership and Success. She was named to the NJCAA All-Academic First Team, the ACCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, the NJCAA All-Region 22 Team, and the NJCAA All-North Division. She plans to transfer to UAH to continue playing softball and pursue a Bachelor Degree in Biology/Pre-Med.
