‘Parson Days’ summer orientation set for July 20-22, 24-26

BOAZ, Ala. – Snead State Community College’s incoming students have the opportunity to jumpstart their college success this summer with Parson Days.

Parson Days is the new student orientation at Snead State Community College where students will be able to receive advisement, register for classes and be equipped with the tools necessary to have a successful college experience.

Parson Days sessions will be held during the following dates and times:

July 20 – 8:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m.

July 21 – 8:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m.

July 22 – 8:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m.

July 24 – 8:45 a.m., 5:45 p.m.*

July 25 – 8:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m.

July 26 – 8:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m.

*The 5:45 p.m. session set for July 24 will be reserved for Adult Learners.

Each scheduled session will last about 2 hours. All sessions are located on the Boaz campus.

For incoming students to be eligible to sign up for a Parson Days session, they must complete a checklist that may be viewed here (Parson Days 2023 – Snead State Community College) in its entirety.

Once students complete the checklist, then they can sign up for a session starting July 3. If unable to attend an in-person session, students may take advantage of the Parson Days Virtual Orientation. More information is available at Parson Days 2023 – Snead State Community College.

Among the requirements will be for students to submit ACT/SAT/AP or CLEP scores officially from the testing website to the Snead State Admissions Office. However, if a student graduated before 2019 and does not have previous college credit, the student must take the Accuplacer Placement Test. If a student graduated high school since 2019 with a school GPA below 2.75, the student must take the also take the test.

With Parson Days approaching, Snead State will host special testing sessions on Saturday, June 10, and Saturday, July 8, for students to take the Accuplacer Placement Test at 8 and 10 a.m. each day. Up to 15 students can take the test at one time.
