Testing

The testing department at Snead State is located in the Testing Center on Usry Avenue, close to the Bevill Center.  We offer both the GED and Accuplacer tests.

GED Test

The GED test is now taken on the computer.  Complete registration for the test is online at www.ged.com.  See test dates, links for GED registration, and additional information.

Accuplacer Test

The current placement test is called the Accuplacer, which is a product of the College Board. Students who do not have adequate ACT scores or high school benchmarks, in either English or math, must take the Accuplacer. The English portion is called the WritePlacer, where students must compose an essay. The math portion is called Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra and Statistics, consisting of 20 math questions.

The Accuplacer test is offered Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Testing Center.

Note: Due to safety concerns regarding COVID-19, Accuplacer testing is available only by appointment or through an online proctoring company called Examity. Students who walk in to the testing center will not be able to take the Accuplacer test without first making an appointment.

ACT Test

The ACT test is also administered on the Snead State campus.

Proctored Exams

The Snead State testing department offers a proctoring service.
