William “Shaw” Cornelius

Hello, everyone! My name is William Cornelius, but everyone refers to me as Shaw. I was born in Atlanta, GA, but spent all of my formative years in Oneonta, AL. Graduating in 2012, I then moved to Montgomery, AL, where I attended Auburn University at Montgomery and ran cross country as a student athlete. Due to class issues with my major, I attended Snead State Community College as a transient student. By doing this, I was able to graduate within four years with my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, focusing on marketing and minoring in psychology. Those transient classes also helped boost my GPA, which is always a plus!
Being a recruiter, my job is to help guide you through your postsecondary goals. Regardless of where you find yourself on this journey, I am supremely confident that either myself or our Office of Student Services will be able to put you on the right path. Snead State has the tools and programs to make sure you are successful. All it takes is the first step!
If you have any questions, concerns, or just need some assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. I can be reached at william.cornelius@snead.edu or at (256) 840-4127.
Emily Jackson

Hey y’all! My name is Emily Jackson, and I’m so excited to join the Snead State team.
I’m originally from East Tennessee and went to Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA, for undergrad, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. I eventually found myself in Alabama, and I’ve spent the past couple of years working at Auburn University, helping to coordinate orientation and making sure the transition was smooth for first year and transfer students. I’m very passionate about college and career readiness, and I know first-hand how continuing education can change your life.
As a recruiter, I’m looking forward to getting to know students and helping them achieve their college and career goals. I believe that everyone deserves to succeed and create a better future for themselves, and Snead State is a great place to start or continue making that happen!
If there is anything I can do to help you out on your journey, just let me know! I can be reached by email (emily.jackson@snead.edu) or phone (256-840-4214) for any questions or assistance you might need.
