Apple Swift App Development Program
Snead State is one of the Alabama Community College System’s schools that is piloting Apple’s app development curriculum. The program teaches students app design for Apple mobile devises using the Swift programming language. Snead State has a designated Apple Lab equipped with 14 Apple iMac computers, 10 Apple iPads, 10 Apple iPods, and additional iMacs for expansion and/or a second classroom.
Core Swift Programming Courses
CIS 157: Introduction to App Development with Swift (3 credit hours)
- Beginning programming class (no experience required)
- Interactive practice exercises in Playgrounds using Swift
- Build very basic apps using Swift
CIS 220: App Development with Swift I (3 credit hours)
- Prerequisite: CIS 157
- In-depth introduction to Swift for students with prior programming experience
CIS 221: App Development with Swift II (3 credit hours)
- Prerequisite: CIS 220
- Advanced Swift programming
