The mission of Snead State Community College, a member of the Alabama Community College System, is to meet the needs of those we serve by providing community engagement and enrichment activities, workforce and economic development opportunities, and quality educational programs utilizing varied delivery modalities.

Snead State Community College is recognized as an outstanding comprehensive college of distinction where caring faculty and staff serve to awaken students’ passion for learning. The College is a destination of choice known for its historical and state-of-the-art facilities, excellence in education, civic engagement, and citizenship development. Snead State is responsive to community needs by offering high quality, relevant educational programs and fosters educational innovation through cutting-edge teaching-learning strategies and platforms. Through immersion in a welcoming learning environment that values diversity, experiential learning, and leadership development, our graduates become productive and engaged citizens who make a positive difference in their community.
Our Purpose
We believe that a college education is not just for the wealthy or for those who demonstrate past academic success. Rather, we believe that education and training for any one of us benefits all of us. Those who can benefit and who are willing to put forth the effort are welcomed and encouraged. However, far too many students simply do not have the financial resources to take advantage of these opportunities. One solution for these students is for Snead State to significantly increase its Foundation’s Endowed Scholarship Fund.
