Founders Day Pageant

The Snead State Founders Day Scholarship Pageant will occur on Saturday, August 19, 2023. Location of the pageant and interviews will be in Fielder Auditorium, located in the Dr. Joe and Susan Story Administration Building at Snead State Community College, 220 North Walnut Street, Boaz, AL 35957.
The pageant is open to current Snead State students and to juniors and seniors in high school. A winner and first runner-up will be crowned in each division. To sign up for the pageant, complete the contestant registration packet and submit it along with your entry fee. Instructions for submissions and payments are included in the packet. Applications are due by 4 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, and may be submitted to the Business Office, located on the top level of the McCain Student Center, located on Elder Street on the Boaz campus. Entry fees must be paid at the time applications are submitted.
Arrival and interview times may change according to the number of participants, and contestants will be notified of any changes.
Registration
Registration/check-in for the pageant will begin at 12 p.m. on August 19 in the Commons of the Story Administration Building. The Commons is located on the first floor straight across from the front door. You should have completed the contestant registration packet and submitted it along with your entry fee prior to pageant registration/check-in.
Interviews
Interviews will be conducted from 1-2:30 p.m., and you will be assigned a time for your interview when you register. Interviews will occur in the Margaret Story Library, also located in the Story Administration Building, to the left as you enter the front door.
Interview Apparel should be professional/business in nature, and questions will be asked from the application that is turned in with the $25 application fee. Applications are due by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2023, and may be submitted to the Business Office, located on the top level of the McCain Student Center, located on Elder Street on the Boaz campus of Snead State Community College.
Stage Portion
The Stage Portion (Beauty Walk and Crowning) of the pageant will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, in Fielder Auditorium, located in the Story Administration Building, 220 North Walnut Street, Boaz, AL 35957. Fielder Auditorium is located on the first floor down the hallway to the right if entering by the front door. The auditorium is at the end of the hallway. The stage portion of the pageant will be an evening gown walk and response to an on-stage question drawn at random by the contestant.
Pageant Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the winner and first runner-up in each of the two division. The High School division is open to Juniors and Seniors in high school. The Snead State division is for students enrolled at Snead State (not including dual enrollment students who would need to compete in the High School division).
Prizes include:
- High School Division (High School Junior and Senior Contestants)
- The Winner will receive a two-year tuition/fee scholarship to attend Snead State Community College after graduating high school.
- The first runner-up will receive a one-year tuition-only scholarship to Snead State Community College after graduating high school.
- Snead State Division (Freshman and Sophomore Students at Snead State)
- The winner will receive a one-year tuition/fees scholarship to Snead State Community College and a $1,500 credit at the Snead State Bookstore to be used for books and supplies (which could include a laptop).
- The first runner-up will receive a one-year tuition-only scholarship to Snead State Community College and a $500 credit at the Snead State Bookstore to be used for books and supplies.
