Registering for Parson Days

Make sure you have completed all items on the Parson Days Checklist.  ACT and/or ACCUPLACER Test scores need to be on file as soon as possible. You will need to take the ACCUPLACER test if you scored less than a 18 on the Math and Reading sections, less than an 18 on the English portion of the ACT or did not take the ACT.

What can I expect the day of my Parson Day session?

Your session will begin in the Administration Building, located at 220 North Walnut Street in Boaz.

If you are in a transfer major and plan to transfer to a four-year college or university once you complete courses at Snead State, you will need a STARS Guide with you at check-in. A STARS Guide is a transfer template that will provide you the major specific courses that you can take at Snead State that will transfer to your four-year college or university.

A general session will be held in Fielder Auditorium on the Boaz Campus for both students and parents. Following the general session, there will be two sessions, one for students and one for parents. The student session will be hosted by Snead State student leaders. Student leaders will focus on campus life and will be glad to answer any questions you may have about campus activities or what you can expect. Parents will remain for a session that will concentrate on what they will need to know about their student attending Snead State. Representatives from various offices, including Financial Aid, Admissions, Campus Security and more, will be there to provide information as well as answer questions that parents may have. After the parent/student sessions, parents may join their student as they begin the advising and registration process. It is NOT mandatory for parents to attend Parson Days.
