Autism Awareness Workshop

Mr. Murray will speak on Autism and Disability Sensitivity at three separate sessions tailored to specific audiences. The workshop is ideal for people who interact, either in a professional or personal capacity, with individuals who are on the Autism Spectrum. He currently serves as the iRISE2 Mentoring Program Coordinator at Florida Atlantic University.

Mr. Murray is the Coordinator of Clinical Mentoring Programs at Florida Atlantic University Center for Autism and Related Disabilities. He has gained several years of experience working with youth and young adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and Substance Use Disorder. He has an extensive background working in the non-profit sector with community mentoring programs, disability rights and advocacy, grant writing, and program development. He has his Master in Rehabilitation Counseling from Florida Atlantic University and consults as a professional Vocational Counselor. He is driven to support individuals facing adversity and impacted by disabilities. Mr. Murray believes in equal and competitive employment for all individuals who are motivated. He provides an enthusiastic approach when helping individuals gain employment and achieve their independence. He is an avid south Florida bass angular, enjoys 3D and exercising during his spare time.

The three workshop sessions will be held as follows:

  • For Snead State students: 10-11 a.m. in Fielder Auditorium
  • For Snead State faculty and staff: 2-3 p.m. in the Administration Building, Room 108
  • For K/12 professionals, other college professionals and members of the community: 6-7:30 p.m. in Fielder Auditorium
