Welcome from the Vice President for Student Services
On behalf of the faculty and staff, welcome to Snead State Community College. Your success matters to us, and we are here to help guide and direct you to your ultimate educational and career goals. We provide an array of services which will help you succeed in achieving success. The Student Services staff is committed and eager to provide you with quality programs, services, and opportunities to reach your personal, academic, and professional goals. I am confident that you will find the variety of resources and available to you supportive and beneficial.
In the fall of 2010, Snead State Community College began creation of the Student Success and Career Center, which formally opened in February 2011. The intent was to create an environment where a student can come in and receive everything they need in order to attend the College. The Student Success and Career Center is located in the McCain Building and has many departments located under one roof: admissions, student records, financial aid, campus engagement, testing, career services, tutoring, and disability support services. In addition, students have access to a computer lab, an online career center, career interest testing, peer tutoring, intake advising, transfer advising, and general academic advising.
The Student Success and Career Center is staffed with a help desk to guide individuals in their pursuit for information and assistance. It has a large open area that is used for multiple events including guest speakers, club meetings, study hall, receptions, and workshops. The Student Success and Career Center is available to provide the support necessary to achieve the College mission.
I encourage you to access all of our services and ask any one of our professional staff to assist you with your educational endeavors. I congratulate you for choosing such a wonderful educational institution. SSCC is where success begins!
