Alumni Homecoming is scheduled for Friday, May 4, at the Plunkett Wallace Gymnasium. Attendees are invited to arrive at 5:30 p.m. for a special social time. The buffet opens at 6 p.m.
As part of the Salute to Veterans, the Alumni Association is accepting photos of Snead State Alumni who served in the military. Anyone willing to share photos of themselves, their loved ones or veterans they know may submit the photos to the Alumni Office via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or via mail at P.O. In addition to the buffet and the presentation of the Alumni of the Year award, the event will include a performance by the National WWII Museum’s Victory Belles. The Victory Belles are an elegant and charming vocal trio who travel the globe delighting audiences with their spirited performances, which feature dazzling costumes, audience interaction, and musical hits to include Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree, Bei Mir Bist du Schon, God Bless America, and the Service Medley, all sung in rich, three-part harmony. The Victory Belles represent the patriotic fabric of World War II America in keeping the sentimental musical history of the 1940s alive with regular performances every Wednesday at the National WWII Museum's Stage Door Canteen, as well as across the country and overseas. They have performed at hundreds of military, veteran and civilian events around the world to include the Ellis Island Medal of Honor Ceremony, Ellis Island, USO Galas in Japan and Hawaii, the USO Guam Six Star Salute on board the USS WASP, and with several military bands across the country. The Victory Belles have sung the National Anthem and participated in halftime performances for numerous NBA, NFL, and MLB teams including the Dallas Mavericks, Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Cubs, and the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans.
