Snead State Community College Students Inducted Into Honor Society

4/12/2018

Snead State Community College recognized the academic achievement of students at the spring induction ceremony for the Theta Iota chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society held Thursday, April 12.

Sherrie Hiett, Victim Services Director with Family Services of North Alabama, addressed the inductees about living their lives “on purpose.”

“You had to be intentional to be here,” Ms. Hiett said. “You were driven. You were passionate with your academic life. You had to be a person of reputation and character. You had to say no to some things on purpose. That’s commendable. You are already doing things on purpose to be successful. I encourage you to do things on purpose wherever you are. Don’t get stuck in your bubble.”

The spring induction ceremony was led by the current PTK officers: President Ryan Howell of Guntersville, Vice-President of Leadership Haley Howard of Gurley, Vice-President of Service Sabryn Chandler of Leesburg, Vice-President of Scholarship Laine Reese of Guntersville, Vice-President of Fellowship Lexie Blackstone of Albertville, Recording Officer Kayla Kean of Albertville, Treasurer Hope Terrell of Boaz and Public Relations Officer Taylor Statum of Huntsville.
