Snead State, Auburn Sign Agreement for Horticulture Students
Snead State Community College students majoring in horticulture with plans to transfer to Auburn University now have a direct path to get there.
On Thursday, Aug. 18, Snead State President Dr. Robert Exley met with Auburn University’s Dr. Wheeler Foshee to sign a transfer agreement from the Department of Horticulture at AU that will provide this benefit to students.
“We are very blessed to have an exceptional opportunity to collaborate with Auburn University to offer this outstanding program of study,” said Dr. Exley. “What makes this an even more rewarding endeavor is the relationship between the Auburn professors and our own outstanding faculty member Tom Warren, who is nearing completion of his doctoral studies with Auburn University.”
Mr. Warren is an instructor with Snead State’s Science Department and also serves as a sponsor for the College’s successful fishing team.
To ensure guaranteed admission to the AU horticulture program as outlined in the transfer agreement, students will follow the STARS guidelines to have their credits transfer to Auburn, and they must meet the transfer admissions requirements to the university.
